B.L. Harbert International, LLC, an American construction company, which began operations in 2000, has grown to be a well diversified company working in a wide range of construction markets both in the U.S. and abroad.
BL Harbert's International Group provides preconstruction, design-build and MEP engineering services for U.S. Government secure facilities, civil/industrial, commercial and hospitality clients in various locations throughout the world. We have successfully completed in excess of $2 billion in project work over the past 10 years, with an additional $1.5 billion currently under construction.

History

B.L. Harbert International, LLC, which began operations in 2000, has grown to be a well diversified construction company working in a wide range of construction markets both in the U.S. and abroad.
The development of our extensive construction capabilities has a long and storied history, beginning in 1949 when brothers John and Bill Harbert, along with Ed Dixon, founded the original Harbert Construction Company. It was their foresight and love of construction that laid the strong foundation for our operations in the various construction markets in which we participate today. From those early days the abiding trust that these construction pioneers placed in the skills and abilities of our employees has been passed on through the years creating the corporate culture we enjoy today. Our company is firmly grounded in Alabama; our roots in the community are deep, while we possess those unique capabilities to build anything, anytime and anywhere in the world.
The growth that the company is able to sustain throughout a wide range of operations has at its core a very decentralized decision-making and management operating philosophy. This in turn has led to the formation of two distinct operating groups: the U.S. Construction Group and the International Construction Group.

Self-Perform Construction Capabilities BL Harbert has personnel resources with the capabilities and experience to self-perform most types of general construction work, including site work, concrete forming and placement, mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP) systems, and architectural and interior finishes. Our experience in working around the world in various situations allows us to apply exceptional construction knowledge to any project. Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Engineering (MEP) BL Harbert has over 50 dedicated mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering professionals who have the ability to manage the entire process; from in-house estimating, engineering and procurement, to staffing, managing, and supervising labor, through to the start-up, commissioning, and warranty phases. This synchronized work concept allows BL Harbert to get things right the first time. Preconstruction The most successful construction projects begin with thorough planning and close communication amongst key parties during the Preconstruction process. During this critical time, BL Harbert can provide our clients with Project Budget Estimating, Value Analysis, Project Bid Package Development, Bid Analysis and Scheduling. Each component will be tailored specifically to fit project needs. Design-Build Design-build is where BL Harbert shines. We have developed a strong, global network with architects and suppliers to collaborate on projects no matter their location. BL Harbert also maintains an in-house, multi-discipline Design Coordination Department, which directs all phases of the design process, both internally and with our design partners.
